The Joy List: Gratitude Edition
I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder. ~G.K. Chesterton
Every Sunday on Living Happiness, we turn our attention to the moments of joy and beauty in our lives … and share our joys with others. This Sunday’s edition of The Joy List is a focus on the things we are grateful for within the past week. After all, the things that we are grateful for are usually the things that have also brought us joy … or made room for joy to enter.
This week I am grateful for:
1. my husband
2. my blogging friendships, both new and old
3. my “in-person” friendships, the Girls
4. the new and better relationship I have with my mother
5. the fresh produce we are enjoying from our garden
And here are what some of Living Happiness’s Facebook friends and fellow bloggers are grateful for:
6. That I heard from my long-lost brother. ~Julie Riddle, Random Meanderings
7. The cooling weather! phew!
The new words my little one has learned: gorgeous, beautiful, awesome, tummy full – all my fav words– and she says them so cutely.
My new blog design — YIPPEE! ~Zeenat Merchant-Syal, Positive Provocations
8. All the “little things” this past week that mean a lot. ~Julia Haddock Nofsinger
9. My wonderful new hustband, who got up early every morning this week to make breakfast and take the kids to school so I could sleep an extra half hour. Just because. ~Darby Lackey Campen
10. I’m grateful for the rain we’ve had in the last days. Immensely grateful for my children, our health, my boyfriend, and good friends. ~Horte Hernandez
11. The peace of letting go of a poisonous relationship. ~Susan Conley
12. The loyal people in my life. ~Amy Krohn Hoskins

I am incredibly grateful for you, too, dear friend. And I love your additions to the list. Thank you for sharing your joy.
HI Sweet Carla,
Kids are so much fun and so is life when we are open to the wonderful blessings it has to offer.
I forgot to mention…I am Grateful…oh so grateful to have found YOU!
And grateful to your little alter who comes up and teaches us so many things.
Ohh..and my little one started saying “hmmm..yummy tasty”
Lots of love..and Happy Sunday!
Z~
Dearest Zee, your words made my day. Thank you for this gratitude: I am equally grateful for you and for the marvelous ways that the Universe works to bring us into one another’s lives: it is truly wonderful and marvelous in the original senses of both of those words.
Big huge hugs from me today. xx
p.s. “Yummy tasty” is going into my lexicon for the week.
I’m grateful for living by the ocean, beautiful sunsets over the water, the moon watching over me, warming weather, and great friends, both online and off.
Oh, Jay. You are a romantic at heart: sunsets, ocean walks, the moon. So glad I have met you, dear friend. Thank you for this list today. x
I am grateful for the green tea I’m drinking right now, the helicopter seedlings landing in my pool outside my window, the beautiful child I gave birth to seventeen years ago who amazes me everyday with her sensitive nature, a loving husband who’s napping as happy as a cat right now. I am grateful that there are people out there who recognize that kindness and gratitude are life changing. Thanks for this lovely Sunday post, and I’m also grateful to have found your blog. New subscriber!!!! for sure.

Katie! It is great to see you! So glad that you found this space today and shared your joys and gratitudes: all of these are beautiful. I especially loved the hubby napping “happy as a cat,”
and I’m so glad you enjoyed the nature of the post. It can be so easy to focus on the negative (I know, I can do it quite naturally, quite often), so this is a weekly reminder for me to look at all that’s going right in my world … and in the wonderful worlds of my readers.
Thank you for your comment and for subscribing (YIPPEE!). I hope you will enjoy what you read here. Now I’m off to pop over to your place … Yay!
I’m grateful for discovering your blog. I’m grateful for RSS
I’m grateful for the A-List blogging club and the wonderful people I have met there. I’m grateful for a beautiful May day to plant vegetable plants and flowers. I’m grateful for the gifts of love and health in my life. I’m grateful for the huge degree of freedom I have in my life. I’m grateful for Katie’s 7-week life-cleanse. I’m grateful for the beautiful job Chloe from A-List did designing a new header for the blog this weekend. I’m grateful the promise of summer stretching out before me. Okay, I’ll stop now – I tend to get a little carried away

Hi, Jean. It was great to see you come over for a visit today. You’ve been popping up at all the places I’ve been popping up at!
Thank you for adding your gratitudes to the Joy List. I particularly loved freedeom, the promise of the summer stretching out before youo, and the planting of the bulbs and flowers (we’ve been doing a lot of that around here lately too). As for getting carried away, I post a new Joy List here every Sunday … so you can share again … and then again if you want to!
Hope to see you again.
This is a wonderful collection –
I sent all of my bills (paid) in last week with a great sense of gratitude… thank you for the house, the electricity, the gas, the swimming pool and landscaping (HMO)… and the money to pay for it all! Thre is much for which I am grateful, but right now… I am working on remembering the shelter, energy, and funding aspects of my life for which I am grateful and thankful and appreciative!

Thank you for these beautiful additions to the list, TE. Everything has its place, everything has its beauty — including utilities.

Carla, I’m grateful for YOU. Truly. I’m not trying to wrangle a gold star or extra points.
You, my little Miss Minx, bring “real” to my life in a very special way.
You’re wise and exciting, deeply thoughtful, unique and courageous. You dive into life, letting your curiosity and wonder— and appreciation— carry you to new adventures of heart and mind, the inner and outer worlds both tended with care. And you care for US enough to share yourself here. For me, it’s as if you pop next door to knock on my window, peering in to ask if I’m ready to sit with you for a cup of tea, and of course my answer’s always, “Yes.”
You brighten my days. And I’m grateful.

Oh, Julie. I wish you were next door and I could pop over and say, “Time for a cuppa.” It would be divine! This comment of yours was very much something I needed today: it ministered to me. Really.
Thank you for the gift of your friendship, across the miles, through the blogs, in the emails. I sincerely hope we meet one day. Am going to start counting on it. Will you come see me? Even if I’m in Melbourne?
Much love.
